Various discussions are evoked regarding the old grading system and suggesting an active alternative way for grading students such as the the digital badges powered by new technologies.A great example is OpenBadges which is new online standard representing one of the alternatives of the old grading systems.Since it started as collaborative project between MacArthur Foundation, HASTAC and Mozilla, OpenBadges facilitates recognition for learning and verifying skills which will help employers, organizations and schools to validate individuals’ skills and competencies.
