On june 26, I’ve arrived to Khouribga city with my friends and colleagues from Connect Institute, to surpass another step of joining the newly opened coding school called “1337”, which is a new school of it kind, similarly to Connect Institute in some of its main core concept, like learning in pair-to-pair, freely on an open space of creativity, but different when it comes to its focus which is coding and technology, for the goal to train high skilled developers, that don’t just acquire the techniques, but also the soft skills like communication and collaboration, and developing the skills to be self-organized and working hard…, that they really need to solve real life problems.
I had no idea what to expect, but to do an interview and meeting the school staff or something similar. I went to the school the same day after I got myself a room at the hotel, I got a taxi and arrived to the school, I was surprised where the expected meeting’s took place, We’ve checked-in with our invitations that were sent to us earlier through their website, and then all who arrived like me waited, until we later on were guided to attend a presentation about the school in a a large exposition room, where we saw the the director of the school himself who talked to us about the school’s unique program, and what we should have to get in. After that we were given a tour by the staff of the school in groups, the dedicated space of the school was enormous, and the buildings were modern and tall, vastly placed around from each other, some levels in a building were well equipped with computers and desks for the upcoming students, in addition to showers, and a cafeteria, we were eventually able to proceed the singing up in their website, and choose an appointment to their immersive month long test, that will prove our eligibility to join the school.
I had the chance to see the city for the first time, and I’m thankful to Connect Institute for helping us, and I hope everyone gets accepted including myself.
