On Saturday, January 14th, 3 days after our big event, OPEN HOUSE, the team of Connect Institute took the challenge to organize, yet, another event: TARAB 7.

In order to make the event work, the team hustled for three days contacting the contestants, arranging the space and spreading word of the event. The musicians started showing up on Saturday at 10 am to practice and get familiar with the stage; they also had the chance to get to know each other and talk to the participants of Connect Institute. At 3:30 pm the audience started showing up and the event begun at 4:00pm.

After introducing the audience to the activities of Connect Institute, the musicians took the stage to showcase their talent. Amongst the 11 candidates the music genres varied from classical arabic song to pop music and beatboxing. By the end of the event, it was time to vote for a winner and thus Lamya Imzilen had the majority of votes granting her a place in the masterclass that will be facilitated by Malika Zahra.

Despite having encountered many difficulties while preparing for the event, we felt the audience and the candidates’ appreciation through the discussions we had at the end of TARAB 7. Many of the participants literally expressed that it was the ‘’ Best day of their lives.’’
