Cette semaine, nos jeunes du programme MOMKIN 20 ont organisé la projection-débat du film danois The Hunt réalisé par Thomas Vinterbergjn. Sorti en 2012, le film a été sélectionné pour participer à la compétition officielle au Festival de Cannes dans laquelle l’acteur Mads Mikkelsen a remporté le Prix d’interprétation masculine.
Le film raconte l’histoire d’un enseignant qui vit une vie solitaire après un divorce douloureux, tout en luttant pour reconstruire sa relation avec Marcus, son fils adolescent. Sa vie s’améliore lentement, à mesure qu’il ait retrouvé l’amour, mais cette chance est sur le point d’être brutalement brisée par un petit mensonge innocent.

The subject of child sexual abuse is not brought up in cinema that much. Thomas Vinterberg’s The Hunt explains the concepts of social norms and the power of injustice .
Lucas is a good person, peaceful and unmarried. He loves to work as a teacher in a small village in Denmark. His life will be turned to Hell when he will be accused with sexually harassing young girl. The film shows us that people often act spontaneously, as they will completely change their perception of this teacher, believing that by punishing him, the world will change. All of that small community around him, including his close friends and coworkers, will contribute to destroy this person.
Mads Mikkelsen Through this movie, we see how much society tends to play the role of the executioner without looking for evidence, that’s why sometimes the predator becomes the prey.
